Information about Gender Inclusive Housing
Residence life at Salem State is committed to providing an inclusive, comfortable environment for all our students. Gender-inclusive housing at Salem State is a living option within our residence halls where student housing is not limited by gender.
In our traditional style residence halls (Bowditch, Marsh, and Peabody Halls) there are gender inclusive restrooms with private showers on each floor. In our suite and apartment style housing (Atlantic and Viking Halls) each suite or apartment has private restrooms within the suite or apartment.
Indicating Your Interest in Gender Inclusive Housing
Students interested in gender inclusive housing will only reside with other students who have completed the Gender Inclusive Housing Agreement on the housing portal. Students living in gender inclusive housing can select or be assigned suitemates regardless of gender or sex.

Students who wish to live in gender-inclusive housing should indicate their interest in their housing application and complete the Gender Inclusive Housing Agreement on their housing portal.
